Can the bin be placed on the street?
- Depends, some cities allow bins to be placed on the street, but you should check with your local city hall.
Can I put drywall into the bin?
- Drywall is a tricky one…drywall is banned from landfills. Therefore, it must be separated so that it can be recycled.
- Drywall can be mixed into garbage loads but the city demands that there is a penalty fee. If drywall, gypsum boards or plaster are mixed with regular garbage, an additional charge is processed at the rate of $150 per tonne, so best to keep em separate!
How do I load a bin?
- Keep the load beneath the top of the bin. An overloaded bin will be fined.
Do I need to make special preparations at the bin site?
- Roll-off bins require at least a 16 foot wide access to accommodate the truck.
- Best to remove any other vehicles when expecting a deliver, exchange, or pickup.
- You may want to consider placing large pieces of plywood where the bin is to be located to avoid damage to concrete or asphalt.
